SRP electrification rebates

What's new for the SRP Business Solutions Program?

Electric Technologies

Summary of rebate changes:

  • Added an eQSP (electrification Qualified Service Provider) Assessment program to allow trained vendors in a closed network to study electrification opportunities for equipment. Vendors/Customers complete a custom pre-approval application and agree to include certain program criteria. The specific programs include:
    • Commercial Non-road Electrification (material handling) up to $5,000/study
    • Commercial Non-road Electrification (process heating and other) up to $10,000/study
  • Smart Forklift Battery Charger rebates will decrease from $250/unit to $150/unit
  • Pilot to encourage the conversion of Medium/Heavy Duty Vehicles. Treated as custom and requires pre-approval. Rebate is $0.10/kWh for estimated first year usage.

Electric Vehicle Charging

Summary of rebate changes:

  • Added a Fleet Advisory Services Program “FAS” (On-road Electrification) to allow trained vendors in a closed network to study electrification opportunities for fleets. Vendors/Customers complete a custom pre-approval application and is paid in part after the study is prepared and another part if the customer completes the recommended measures. The rebate is up to $20,000 per study and participants must include specific program criteria and measures.

What can my business get rebates for?


  • Get a rebate of up to $500 per forklift for the purchase or lease of each additional electric forklift operated at an SRP-served facility.
  • Get a rebate of up to $2,000 per eligible forklift, if the forklift replaces an internal-combustion-powered forklift.
  • Leased and used electric forklifts may be eligible for a prorated rebate.
  • Bonus! Receive a $250 rebate if you purchase a class 3 electric pallet jack for replacement of an LP, diesel or natural gas forklift.
  • Bonus! Small Business receives a $500 bonus for up to two electric forklifts if your usage is below 145,000 kWh annually.
  • Available to eligible SRP customers for equipment delivered between May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022. Apply on or before July 31, 2022.
  • The rebate cap for the SRP Business Solutions Electric Technology Program is $50,000 per customer, and counts towards the $300,000 rebate cap for all SRP Business Solutions Programs.

Electric forklifts can:

  • Operate in narrower aisles than internal combustion forklifts.
  • Lift average capacities of up to 12,000 pounds, with some models lifting up to 40,000 pounds.
  • Operate outdoors, on uneven surfaces or in rainy weather.
  • Run up to eight hours or longer on a single battery charge.
  • The rebate cap for the SRP Business Solutions Electric Technology Program is $50,000 per customer, and counts towards the $300,000 rebate cap for all SRP Business Solutions Programs.

More benefits:

  • Reduce fuel costs by up to 75%.
  • Perform maintenance with 90% fewer parts than those in a combustion engine.
  • The typical return on investment (ROI) is less than two years.
  • Reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions by up to 11 metric tons per propane conversion, or six metric tons per diesel conversion.

Details:

  • Get a rebate of up to $150 per charger for the purchase of a high-frequency smart charger operated at an SRP-served facility.
  • Available to eligible SRP customers for equipment installed between May 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022. Apply on or before July 31, 2022.
  • The rebate cap for the SRP Business Solutions Electric Technology Program is $50,000 per customer, and counts towards the $300,000 rebate cap for all SRP Business Solutions Programs.

High-frequency smart chargers can:

  • Efficiently charge large batteries such as those used in electric forklifts.
  • Utilize advanced circuitry to convert power at high frequencies.
  • Assist warehouse or industrial facilities with significant forklift and multishift operations.

More benefits:

  • Reduce electricity costs by up to 15% or more with less power draw and the ability to schedule charging to take advantage of time of use rates
  • Achieve higher power factor than conventional chargers.
  • Save valuable real estate with a smaller cabinet footprint and reduce the number of chargers required with multiple voltage chargers
  • Allows for more control and real time and remote monitoring.

Details:

  • Get a $1,000 rebate per 480-volt, three-phase plug to accommodate an electric standby truck refrigeration unit (E/S TRU).
  • Available to eligible SRP customers for equipment installed between May 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022. Apply on or before July 31, 2022.
  • The rebate cap for the SRP Business Solutions Electric Technology Program is $50,000 per customer, and counts towards the $300,000 rebate cap for all SRP Business Solutions Programs.

E/S TRUs:

  • Are ideal for food distribution facilities and other businesses.
  • Give you the option of cooling perishable shipments by plugging in instead of idling a diesel engine.
  • Reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions by up to 13 metric tons when using the electric-standby feature.
  • Reduce fuel costs by up to 75%.
  • Have a typical ROI of less than two years.
  • Eliminate idling and the release of noxious fumes.

Details:

  • Get a $1,000 rebate per bay when you upgrade your infrastructure to accommodate an electrified parking spot.
  • Available to eligible SRP customers for equipment installed between May 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022. Apply on or before July 31, 2022.
  • The rebate cap for the SRP Business Solutions Electric Technology Program is $50,000 per customer, and counts towards the $300,000 rebate cap for all SRP Business Solutions Programs.

Truck stop infrastructure:

  • Allows truck drivers to turn off their diesel engines and auxiliary power units (APUs) and still enjoy heating, cooling, standard electric inside and outside the cab, satellite TV, internet, and many of the comforts of home.
  • Eliminates the noise, vibration and exhaust fumes of idling.
  • Reduces fuel costs by avoiding the volatility of oil and gas prices.
  • Reduces wear on the engine and lowers maintenance costs.
  • Reduces annual greenhouse gas emissions by up to 9.5 metric tons per truck bay when plugged in.

  • Get rebates of up to $0.10 per annual kWh load added by each piece of equipment.
  • Eligible for customers who choose electric alternatives over equipment powered by internal combustion fuels like diesel, natural gas or propane. Pre-approval is required for custom rebate projects.

Sample custom rebate opportunities and processes may include, but are not limited to:

  • Infrared heating, curing and drying
  • Industrial process heating
  • Electric motor drives
  • Airport Ground Support Equipment (GSE)

This program also offers electrification consultations to help customers identify custom rebate opportunities.

  • Get rebates of up to $1,500 per networked Level 2 EV charging station port installed at your business, including workplaces, fleet facilities, multi-family/HOAs, retail and destination centers, or other non-residential properties in SRP's service territory.

  • Position your company as an innovative, environmentally-conscious brand.
  • Recruit and retain employees and tenants with attractive EV charging benefits.
  • Available to eligible SRP customers for equipment installed between May 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022. Apply on or before July 31, 2022.
  • Rebates are limited to 50 charging ports per customer per program year.

How do I get my rebate?

To be eligible for SRP's electric technology rebates, you must:

  • Be an SRP business electric customer with an account in good standing.
  • Meet all program and equipment requirements listed above.
  • Install equipment between May 1, 2021 and April 30, 2022. Apply on or before July 31, 2022.

5 steps to receive your rebate

  1. Purchase and install the new, eligible equipment. If you have questions, contact us at (602) 236-3065.
  2. Create an SRP Rebate Center account to claim your rebate. You will need to have your SRP account number and associated email address.
  3. Follow the steps online to submit your rebate application. You will need to have certain project specific documentation like proof of purchase, contact information for the premise, and equipment specific model information.
  4. Obtain SRP verification of installation.
  5. Upon approval, receive your rebate check!

Rebate funds for this program are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
